People wonder if and how "3 idiots" somehow promoted suicides when in fact it wanted to do the opposite ...
However, I can well understand why and how it could have done ...
Because it makes you aware of what you possibly do not have or might not emulate ....
It makes you aware of lacking the "passion" in your life that you are supposed to have ..
It makes you aware of lacking the "brilliance" in your life even if you have the "passion" ...
And to a few people it makes them aware of the "luck" that ran out on them inspite of having the "brilliance" and "passion"
And speaking on behalf of the average people who are driven on the train of trends rather than the train of passion or brilliance ...
That more than everything else, it makes you aware of the "ordinarity" of your ordinary life ...
And makes you sad that you do not have the brilliance like Rancho or passion like Farhan ..
And lets not forget that had Rancho not got the brilliance of understanding the 10th standard maths in 6th standard , he would have most probably been the Raju .. who inspite of having the passion , would have still lost to Chatur :)
My take on the movie .. go ahead .. enjoy it .. laugh with it .. But remember it as a feel good movie .. Do not promote it seriously as a "take life's lessons" movie .. Inspite of everything, it is a movie where all ends well .. Follow your heart , but do not rip it apart for not having passion .. Life is tough .. In real life, the Italian photographer might not like your photographs if you are a Farhan .. You might be kicked out of tens of interviews after answering as Raju did, and might have to finally tell lies to land up a job, or worse still, might have to take up a job you do not like .. Worst, you might be a Rancho whose value the Japanese people have still not figured out ...
However, there are still things to enjoy in your life .. And still worth living for .. Even if it is to just play pranks on Chatur :) .. So sing AAAll is well .. and love the sunshine and the rain .. but never mind if you do not get a chance to live again :)
P.S: To answer my very dear friend about his comment on the last post .. There are very few lines of Chetan Bhagat that I agree with, and one of those are "World with God in it is a better place" .. :) .. So I took his road and ended it with that .. You may call it nature instead of God ... Crux remains the same ..
Now go ahead everyone and kill me for writing this post :)

Brilliant post........ One of your best. maybe, the best.
Over the years, I have lost my knack of critically analysing things. Thank gawd that atleast one of us has it :). I had been wondering as to what exactly was wrong with the movie. And though, i understood that in real life, things don't move smoothly with just passion, and neither do u get accepted for being brutally honest. I guess I was honest once in my interview. You don't wanna know how it ended up :P ...... But i don't mind that.
Just one small correction for the post. The photographer was not Italian. I guess he was Hungarian......
Great job, girl.
