India Vs Pak

Enough has been said about the issue already. I just want to add my two cents to it.

1. Its ENOUGH. We are tired of listening the constant rant about PAKISTAN. Tired of every news column realted to terror attacks having the P- word. Comeon , give us something else. We, the people of India rely on INDIAN govt, not PAKISTANI Goverment. Give us a five point rule, a few definite steps, something that makes us believe that you are doing something deifinite about dealing with terrorisms. Something that is not just a stupid political battle for the chair and not just sitting and waiting on your ass for the world ( aka US) to do something about it.

2. We do not want WAR. We do not hate Paksitanis. We do not want our young soldiers to die just because of your political games. We do not want our much needed money wasted on the war which is not gonna solve anything and will probably lead to an increase in terrorism. Why do you not think of investing a portion of your war funds into buying better security equipments, building better infrastructure, providing better training to the security forces and ofcourse building a better intelligence system. Because its harder than just ranting about Pakistan?

3. Are there any plans to curb the rising fanatical groups in India ? Did you get any cues when the terrorists said that they were avenging the demolition of Babri Masjid etc etc. No, do not pretend or even think that these are not the real issues and the terrorists just wanted to affect our economy.
I was raged at the thought of my city burning, and listening to the sorrows of poor innocent people victimised at the hands of those terrrorists. I was angered. I was desperate. I was hopeless and enraged. I wanted to make all the so called mujahideens stand in one line and put bullets in their chest. And I hadnt even lost a dear one or lost my life long savings or business. It is not difficult to lose yourself to anger or injustice. Its not THAT difficult to become a terrorist.

Please take some steps to follow the secularism that India stands for. The RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad which were the obvious culprits in Babri Masjid Demolition have not yet been punished. They still maintain close ties with the second most powerful political party in India. The leaders still issue blasphemous and arsenic statements.
Close on the heels is the Godhra violence. Unabashedly endorsed by the local goverment. Muslim families still struggling to get justice - and seeing the culprits get away with it slowly. The leader Narendra Modi still reigning the government. And yes the Supreme Court has recently said that there is not going to be any CBI enquiry in the Malegaon blast ( Not that it would have helped much, still). WTF. There are enough causes for Indian muslims to be angry. To claim that they are facing injustice. Do not take it too far. Take measures to stop it before the whole of SECULAR India starts burning under the strain of the various fanatic groups. (And no, I do not mean just the Hindu fanatics, I mean EVERY fanatic group) Take strict measures against ANYONE and EVERYONE who tries to take laws in his hands in the name of religion.

And also, I am proud of the way, Indian Muslims have responded. But I have yet to come across a Hindu group saying that Indian Muslims are our brothers/sisters. And that terrroism has no religion. And that lets not target Islam as a religion.

Lets breed some more tolerance in our society. Lets show our children some more videos of Hindu Mulsim Sikh Isai , hum sab hain bhai bhai - videos. Lets make some serials where different communities are friendly and stand united for their own rights. Lets have some more chapters in the school books about harmony and humanity. About the greatness of all religions. About helping the fellow men inspite of their caste/color/creed/religion.

Its not time for war. Its time for solidarity and tolerance. Lets build our Fort strong. Lets guard our country stronger. But lets also inculcate peace inside it. Lets stand united. For there are enemies not just outside, but inside too. Do not let anything divide us. Lets not blame each other and kill each other any more. Amen.

Its the place you are at ..

IN or OUT
Sometimes things look much worse from outside.

When you are in and a part of the system, they look much more efficient, clean and most important - honest. You tend to understand and empathise with the inefficiencies and their causes.

Half a day makes a difference.

Terrorism Vs Corruption

While waiting for my turn in a Vodafone centre, I came across an edition of Outlook/ India today which covered the Bihar Flood havoc. Reading the stories of the affected families made me cringe. 25 Lakh people affected . A number which I was aware of. But suddenly few of these numbers had faces now. I knew how many family members they had lost, how many days their children had to go hungry before getting one piece of bread, how many square inches they had got for the whole family in the relief camp. And of course of the governments inability to deal with it.

The vastness of it all leaves me wishing - if only there were not a bunch of inefficient, money hungry officials in power. If only the culprits were given such a punishment, that in future any official would think thousands of times before putting monetary benefit over his job. But knowing Indian politics and our judiciary system, that is definitely not gonna happen. The media has already moved beyond. The officials will probably have to give some testimonials to some bloody commitees, and they will then go for a trip to switzerland (from the money that they have made out of it ) to cool down. Leaving the 25 lakhs people struggling for a lifetime to build what they have lost. And well, sometimes not even a life time is enough. 25 Lakh people.

And I could not help but compare that number to the number of people who have been affected by terrorism in our country. Are the numbers even close? No, do not get me wrong -I am all for the fight against terrorism - in spirit if not in action. But what about corruption? What about the people who had sworn to serve the people, now killing the people- through their greed and inefficiency. They are not even fighting for any cause, any jihad. They are doing that perhaps just for a bigger car, a bigger house or a foreign trip. After the Delhi incident, new laws are being brought in for the terrorists. People from everywhere are writing editorial columns about terrorism. How about a couple of laws for corruption ? For not doing your work ? How about few of the top bureaucrats speaking against the system ? But then corruption perhaps does not make that good a story as terrorism. And well, it definitely does not help India become better friends with U.S.

So what if the number was 25 Lakhs !!

Some me-analysis .. :P

People often crave to get back to their childhood. I dont. Not that I dont look back and muse at the all the kiddishness and innocence. But if I had to chose between childhood and this phase of my life, I would chose this one. :). That is because I like being independednt. Infact I have a strange kind of NEED to be independedent. I have to be financially independent. As well as, I have to have the independece of planning my evenings. (The lack of the second kind of independence is what made me hate my job :P. )

My friend says he pities my to-be-husband. I say LOL. :P

Where the land is without fear

There are so many things one takes for granted. The list is long. Some obvious -parents, home, friends, family. Some not so obvious - rains, water, nature. And freedom. Few days back, I saw a dream. In the dream, I was in a land ruled by a female religious fanatic. And I had been chosen for a human sacrifice. There were three other people along with me. All three of us had to try and convince the ruler as to why we should not be sacrificed. The more we tried to convince her, somehow or the other, the more we got into trouble. Every now and then we were trying to make strategies to run out of the place, but since there were so many spies around, we could not do anything. Each passing day, I had to see brutal killings, all the while waiting for the same fate to behold any time. lol. This sounds like so much drama. :P. It shld have been a part of the spicy boredom post. But anyways, I actually woke up from the dream gasping for breath.

And suddenly it hit me, how much it mattered to live in a free country. To be able to do small and big things everyday without any fear. To actually be able to take ones own decisions about ones life. Perhaps this is what our forefathers had fought for - For a land which was without fear. Ofcourse the system is corrupt, the politicians dont do their work, there is poverty and illness and everything. But still, there is freedom, much cherished and valued. And perhaps taken for granted. :) . I guess the dream made me value my country a lil bit more ( Not that I din value it before). I hope that the only way India ever goes is, is forward. And I hope that I am able to contribute my share in it.

F.R.I.E.N.D

I love drama. You love comedy. I am dreamy. You are realistic. I am workaholic. You are workophobic. I am superficial. You are deep. I search meaning. You search joy. I listen. You speak. I am self involved. You are evolved. I love night outs. You hate my night outs. I think adventure first. You think safety first. I love mush. You love games. I am easy to please. You are not easy to please. I lose in ludo. You win in ludo. I like waking you up from your sleep whenever I want, even if u are tired. You do not like waking me up when I am sleeping. I am not straight forward. You are the most straighforward person I have met. I love gossip. You love gossip. I think less. You think more. I like gol gappa. U like gol gappa. I worry about money. You never worry. I always favor u. You always contradict me. :P ..

For all the many differences and contradictions, and the some similarities we share - here is wishing the list continues to grow :).

And when you get married, and have kids. And when they start learning to draw, and when they would not be happy with what they would have drawn, I would show them the pic below and say - Oh but baby, u draw much better than what your dad drew when he was 26. :P
( Oh yeah, i disclosed your age too:P)

And here is wishing you a Happy Friendship day for all the days of your life . :)

What we want is not IT, but the fantasy of IT

The life of David Gale

David Gale was a very witty and a highly intelligent professor. But one drunken night, he makes one mistake - a mistake which changes his life forever. Lol , this seemed exactly like the storyline of the bollywood flick - Bas Ek Pal. Anyways , the bollywood one is not an iota similar to the hollywood one .. And nor is this post abt any of the movies.

This post is abt a dialogue of David Gale delivered in one of the classroom sequences. Where he goes on to explain about fantasies. And how fantasies remained fantasies only as long as you did not GET / REALIZE them. As soon as you get something that you want, poof goes the fantasy .. and the desire of the thing ... :) ..

So basically its not IT that we want , its the fantasy of IT that we want.. and I guess if we examine our lives closely we would perhaps realise that it is very true. Atleast it is very true in my case. :)

The birthday present ..

So, the first things first .. This post is a must .. Just for the simple reason that it is very precious to me.

As an ocean? As the moon?..
As a flower? As winter noon?....
As a cool breeze? As the spring?..
As the sweet smell first rain drop brings?....
As the stars in the clear sky?..
As the thrilling fear when skydiver tries?....
As the chill of the first snowfall?..
As the melody of a sweet song?....
It's all so vast and yet not all..
A look in your eyes where I find my peace....

So yeah , the above one was an incomplete version. But it still remains my best birthday present :) ..

The Valentines Day !!

Today was one of the days which makes u pine to get back to college after u are long passed out of it :) . Yeah, well it was the valentine's day. And the in-famous college committe TOPA was gonna organise a valetine's day party. Now in NITIE when u are a freshwoman (not a freshman, mind u ) , u wld more often than not, smirk at the name of TOPA.

Now Valentine's day kinna has always given me goose bumps .. And I always remember getting up with an excitement of something new happening , something new and nice .. And just for the records I came to know of Valentine's day in class 9th. I remember listening in the news abt the loot - maar done by Shiv Sena (or was it Bajrang Dal) on Valetine's day and abt how it is a festival of love and etc etc .. yeah , so for once News did help me increase my knowledge :P .. So comign back to Valetine's day, yeah it has always been one of my fav days :) ..

And as obvious, V day had been most fun at college, engg college that is. With red and yellow flowers pouring in the hostel since morning, excitemement of who getting flowers from whom . anonymous roses , unexpected roses, scratching of brains over the anonymous senders , thinking of ppl to send anonymous roses to (:P) , unending gossips and laughter .. lol .. , well , V-day unfolded a lot of things, which wld keep us busy for weeks to come :) .. lol ..

Now u see, engg colleges and B-schools are different in some of the vary basic ways. The biggest that people are all grown up .. (Its sad i know :( ) .. lol .. Anywyas , so when u hear that TOPA is organizing a party for V-day u don expect much out of it. But well well well , what happened was pleasantly surprising . The most fun i have had in any of the NITIE's party. Not many great things - normal games , baloon dancing , music etc etc .. But it was so special because it was innocent fun. Not the booze and dual- meaning events but nice and fun games. The kind u wld have probably played in the birthday parties in class 6th :) .. And people being just as nice. No comments, nothing uncomfortable . just classmates having a nice time :) .. Just some more of such times here .. And i will sure miss it after I am gone ..

Some special moments :-
1. my dance ;)
2. NG's dance - definitely
3. NG's and Sawhney's baloon dance :)
4. Vikas Yadav .. lol ..
5. Great team work with Vikas
6. Megha between Adarsh and Amit
7. J and the baloon :)
8. Rusia tagging along with Himani lol
yeah and the three legged race :)
:) .. What a day it turned out to be ..

Happy New Year

And well this post is coming a bit late since this is a new year post and new year has gone by quite some time back .. :)

So generally new year is a time to make new resolutions and all .. and i quite don believe in that kinda stuff and all ... but stilll .. since it was nearby and all ... so well , lets make some ...

hmmm , so my this year's resolution is to CHANGE THE TYPES OF MY RESOLUTIONS :D .
So my resolutions will NOT be to change myself but to let myself be me and like it a bit more than i usually do ... Like instead of saying that i will learn dancing, I will say that I will love a - "bad dancer me" :D .. A way to pamper my lazy ass .. he he he .. well , u might say so ;) ..

hmmm , so that is what is my new year's resolution .. and by the end of the year i will see how much i liked myself and see if i kept my resolution or not :)

Oh , there is also this game i have heard of someplace, where u kinda predict how and where u will be by the time of next new year, and then next year u see how correct or wrong u were ..
So, here go some of my predictions :-

1. Ummm , i will be in Mumbai next year. Not necessarily on new years eve, but the staying in Mumbai kinda thing .. (And to tell u the fact, i am pretty sure of being correct on this, unless ofcourse if i die or something ;) )

2. Hmmm , i will have won atleast one beauty contest (I am 100 percent sure of being wrong on this , u see this can't happen even if i die .. and well , otherwise , it DEFINITELY will not happen ;))

3. Okkk , now no 3, hmmmm .... i will be thinner next year .. Oh yeah, i know my resolutions, but i just like losing weight u see . So u can shut up :D

4. i am seriously running out of points.... hmmm , i will have passed all my modules till then and wld not have failed as i dream of a lot of times ... :D

5. I will be happy next year .. Its crap i know :D

yeah well , i am sorry thats all i can predict .. I am sorry if it bored u :D

So , hail the new year .. and let us all be merry and live well this year :)

Happy New Year to all :) .. yeah my new year starts 15 days late .. i have always been a little slow ;)

Just a thought

Happy Family ...

Hmm , this word can be very misleading :) .. very very misleading .. a lot of times u do not makeout the difference between happy and comfortable :) ..

Not true just for families but for people as well , or society.. Somehow i have observed that a fighting or struggling person/family/society is much happier than a 'comfortable' one ..

Isn't it true ? what do u think ?? Have i seen too less ?? :)
